Shooting at Louisville Nightclub Leaves One Dead, Police Seek SUV Linked to Incident

Louisville, Kentucky – Louisville police are reaching out to the community for assistance in locating a vehicle possibly linked to a shooting at a nightclub over the weekend. The incident took place at the H20 Lounge, resulting in one fatality and injuries to seven others.

During a press conference held on Monday, authorities from the Louisville Metro Police shared images of a damaged light-colored 2007-2014 Chevy Tahoe believed to be connected to the shooting. Lieutenant Les Skaggs of the Homicide Unit mentioned that the vehicle may have been disabled near the scene.

Officials suspect that a lone shooter fired shots outside the H20 Lounge and might have damaged the vehicle they fled in. Lt. Skaggs emphasized the urgency of finding the vehicle, as it could lead to identifying the suspect responsible for the shooting.

Responding to reports of multiple people shot near 26th and West Broadway, the police found around 40 individuals gathered outside the nightclub before 1 a.m. when the incident occurred. The victims were all outside the club at the time of the shooting, according to Lt. Skaggs.

Joseph D. Bowers, a 40-year-old from Indianapolis, tragically lost his life during the shooting. Another individual remains in critical condition at UofL Health Hospital, while six people with non-life-threatening injuries sought medical attention at nearby hospitals.

The H20 Lounge has voluntarily closed as a sign of respect for the victims, with the support of the Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control. Authorities urge anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the LMPD tip line or utilize the anonymous Crime Tip portal.

The community’s cooperation in providing information is crucial for the police to progress in the investigation and bring justice to those affected by the tragic nightclub shooting.
