Shooting at Arlington Strip Club Leaves One Dead, Suspected Shooter Not Charged

Arlington, Texas – Tragedy struck outside a strip club in Arlington early on Sunday morning, leaving one person dead and another injured in a shooting incident. Police rushed to Majesty Drive around 1 a.m. where they found a 30-year-old and a 40-year-old with gunshot wounds near the club’s parking lot. The 30-year-old victim, identified as Abel Rodriguez by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 40-year-old was taken to the hospital with injuries but is expected to recover.

Authorities revealed that the suspected shooter, who remained at the scene and cooperated with the police, claimed to have had a prior conflict with the 40-year-old victim and argued with him outside the club. It was reported that Rodriguez, a friend of the 40-year-old, also joined in the argument, which quickly escalated into gunfire. Despite a gun being found near the body of the 40-year-old victim, investigators have not ruled out the possibility of the shooting being an act of self-defense.

Following discussions with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office, the decision was made not to press charges against the suspected shooter, who was subsequently released without being arrested. The Arlington police department is continuing their investigation into the tragic incident as they work to unravel the circumstances that led to the fatal shooting. The case remains open as authorities strive to piece together a comprehensive understanding of the chain of events that unfolded outside the strip club that fateful night.
