Shooter Dances and Flashes Cash Before Ambushing Victim in North Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Law enforcement authorities are searching for a suspect in connection to the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Gary Houston in north Harris County. According to investigators, the shooting occurred after an argument at a gas station. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
Security footage captured the suspect, wearing a yellow cap, dancing and flaunting a wad of cash inside a store on Aldine Bender just a short time before the shooting. Footage also shows the suspect with a group of men outside the store, and later hiding in the shadows at the gate of Haverstock Hills apartments before opening fire on the victim.
Alanka Houston, the victim’s mother, expressed her grief and disbelief, stating that her son was shot in the back four times by “cowards.” She also mentioned that Gary, who loved his job and was looking forward to spending time with his daughter, was a protective brother and son. The shooting resulted in a chain-reaction crash that injured an elderly woman, further adding to the tragic circumstances.
Alanka Houston is urging anyone with information about the shooting or the suspect’s identity to come forward and assist the authorities in bringing the perpetrator to justice. She expressed her frustration at the lack of accountability for the crime and urged the community to take a stand against such violence.
