Security Failure: Family Hires Attorney After Fatal Nightclub Shooting

Atlanta, Georgia – The family of one victim in a tragic nightclub shooting is seeking answers after a gunman managed to bring a weapon inside the club, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Telia Wheeler, the sister of one of the victims, expressed disbelief and devastation over the senseless loss. The victims, 21-year-old Mari Creighton and Nakyris Ridley, were fatally shot at the Elleven45 Lounge in Buckhead.

Four others, including Creighton’s niece, were also injured in the shooting. The family of Mari Creighton has taken legal action by hiring an attorney to investigate how the gunman was able to enter the establishment with a firearm. Attorney Michael Sterling Sr. is considering filing a lawsuit against the lounge for negligent security measures that allowed the tragedy to occur.

Sterling highlighted the lounge’s security protocols that led Creighton to remove mace from her keychain before entering the club. He questioned why security failed to detect the firearm brought in by the shooter. The family is determined to hold the lounge accountable for the devastating incident, with Sterling emphasizing the importance of ensuring justice for the victims.

The attorney expressed concern over the lounge’s decision to advertise parties shortly after the fatal shooting, which he found insensitive and hurtful to the grieving families. Despite claims from the property manager that no parties will be held at the location, the community remains unsettled as police continue their investigation into the shooting.

As the investigation unfolds, Creighton’s family is preparing to bid farewell to the talented Albany State volleyball player, who was just one semester away from graduation. The tragic event has left a lasting impact on the community, prompting calls for accountability and justice for the victims.
