Los Angeles, California – Police are on the lookout for a 38-year-old man involved in a violent road rage incident at Los Angeles International Airport that resulted in an elderly woman being knocked unconscious in the street, officials announced on Thursday.
The disturbing event, captured on LAX surveillance cameras on May 31 just before 9:30 a.m., unfolded as the elderly victim was checking her luggage curbside with three other individuals nearby. Suddenly, two men engaged in a fistfight due to a road rage incident ran towards the woman’s vehicle and viciously struck her in the head, causing her to lose consciousness and sustain severe injuries.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department rushed the woman to the hospital in critical condition. Fortunately, she has since been discharged, although details regarding the extent of her injuries remain undisclosed.
One of the suspects involved in the altercation, identified as the shirtless individual in the surveillance footage, surrendered to authorities and was subsequently arrested. However, the police are still searching for the second man involved, identified as Jasan Givens Sr.
Givens is known to drive a silver Chevrolet sedan with license plate 5UAL384, featuring noticeable damage to the front passenger door. Authorities urge anyone with information on this incident to contact LAPD’s Pacific/LAX Detective Danielson at 424-646-8303 or 310-646-2255. Those wishing to provide anonymous tips can reach out to the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222-8477 or submit information online at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
The LAPD detective highlighted the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the lack of assistance provided by both individuals following the assault. This callous disregard for the victim’s well-being underscores the urgency for the public’s cooperation in identifying and locating the remaining suspect.
