Propane Tank Explosion Caught on Surveillance at Sacramento Sikh Temple – No Injuries Reported

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – A recent propane tank explosion at a south Sacramento-area Sikh temple was captured on surveillance footage, highlighting the magnitude of the incident. The explosion occurred at the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society along Bradshaw Road in the Vineyard community, with newly released footage revealing the intensity of the flames and the ensuing chaos in the parking lot, burning at least two vehicles in the process.

The temple confirmed through surveillance footage that multiple propane cylinders randomly exploded, with no one in close proximity at the time. The video shows a heavy burst of flames emanating from the building into the parking lot, and a burning propane tank was seen flying into the parking lot toward the camera.

According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the footage ruled out arson. The fire originated in the area where stored propane tanks were located, though the exact cause of the fire and explosion remains undetermined. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the explosion.

The intense footage shows several propane tanks being blown in excess of 50 feet, with the fire extending into the building’s attic space, causing a partial collapse. However, the temple itself was not directly impacted. The investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing, as authorities work to determine what led to the ignition of the propane tanks.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with the storage and use of propane tanks, as it has the capability to cause significant damage and pose serious safety risks. The community is waiting for further updates on the investigation, hoping to gain a better understanding of the sequence of events and any potential safety measures that can be implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
