Pregnant Woman Beaten, Suspect is Child’s Father

HATFIELD, PA – A heinous attack on a pregnant woman in Hatfield has left the community reeling. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Raymond Bautista, is accused of assaulting the mother of his unborn child in a shocking act of violence captured on a neighbor’s security camera.

The early morning attack occurred as the victim, who is 15 weeks pregnant, was leaving her apartment for work around 4:30 a.m. Bautista, reportedly wearing a black ski mask, ambushed her, delivering blows to her face and kicking her multiple times in the stomach and back before fleeing the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene, police officers spoke with the victim, who identified Bautista as the likely attacker. She cited their strained relationship and his previous suggestions for her to terminate the pregnancy as potential motives. Medical evaluations later confirmed she suffered from nasal bone fractures, abrasions, and bruising.

A search of Bautista’s vehicle revealed incriminating evidence, including a ski mask and gloves matching those seen in the security footage. Further investigation uncovered that Bautista had called in sick to work shortly before the assault.

During a police interview, Bautista confessed to the attack, leading to his arrest. The initial bail request set by authorities was $1 million, but a district judge reduced it to $75,000 unsecured, a decision that has sparked outrage among law enforcement and the community.

An emergency bail hearing is scheduled for tomorrow morning at the Montgomery County Courthouse, where a different judge will review the case. There is hope that the new judge will take a firmer stance on the bail decision.

The incident has highlighted the urgent need for protective measures against domestic violence. As the victim recovers from her injuries, the community remains vigilant, advocating for justice and stronger legal protections for victims of such crimes.
