PALATKA, Fla. – A man in Putnam County, Florida, is currently being held without bond for charges related to possessing an explosive device, aggravated battery, and illegal possession of a gun silencer. The man, Charles Legault, was stopped by a deputy for having an unassigned license plate on his pickup truck. During the search, a chemical pipe bomb exploded, injuring the deputy.
Reports indicate that Legault was found to have two handguns, 20 rounds of ammunition, and an unregistered gun silencer in his possession at the time of the incident. Gun silencers, required to be registered with the ATF, were identified among Legault’s belongings, raising concerns about public safety.
