POMONA DUI Crash Kills Three Women Returning from Baby Shower: Man Charged with Murder

POMONA, Calif. – A tragic incident unfolded in Pomona, California, resulting in the loss of three lives following a fatal crash. Victor Siharath, a 36-year-old resident of Pomona, has been charged with murder and DUI in connection with the collision that claimed the lives of three women who were returning from a baby shower. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón revealed the charges during a press conference.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 11 p.m. at White Avenue and Phillips Boulevard leaving two individuals injured, including a 12-year-old girl. The victims, identified as Yesenia Olaez, 33; Lorena Morales; and Alejandra Olaez, 33, were on their way home from a joyous celebration for Morales’ granddaughter when tragedy struck.

Siharath was behind the wheel of an SUV at the time of the accident and was taken into custody at the scene. Witnesses recalled seeing him run a red light just before the collision. Juan Manuel “Jaime” Garcia, the husband of Lorena Morales, was critically injured as the front-seat passenger, while Noemi Olaez, the daughter of Alejandra, along with the 12-year-old girl, was hospitalized in the intensive-care unit.
