NEW YORK CITY, NY – Police are actively searching for a violent mugger who attempted to rob a 91-year-old man on a New York City street. The victim, Hyman Silverglad, was hospitalized with multiple injuries after bravely fighting off the assailant who was trying to steal his wallet.
The assault occurred last week on East 86th Street between First and Second Avenues around 10:30 a.m. The suspect was captured on surveillance cameras and was last seen fleeing the scene on foot. The New York Police Department’s 19th precinct has released a photo of the suspect and is seeking tips from the public to locate him.

Despite the physical and emotional toll, Silverglad remained resilient, stating, “I had to fight for my life. Who wouldn’t put up a good fight?”
