Phoenix Police Shoot and Kill Robbery Suspect, Arrest Accomplice in Weekend Incident

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A suspect was fatally shot by police and his alleged accomplice was arrested following a robbery at a Phoenix store over the weekend. The Phoenix Police Department reported that officers were called to a robbery near Indian School Road and 21st Avenue around 4 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival, they encountered a man and a woman believed to be the perpetrators.

The suspects were given verbal commands by the officers, but the man reportedly failed to comply, leading to an officer firing a weapon that launches 40mm less-lethal ammunition at him. The suspect fled the scene and attempted to enter a truck stopped in the street before allegedly pointing a handgun at the officers, prompting the shooting. The man, later identified as 42-year-old Guy Vogel Jr., later died at the hospital.

The woman, identified as 25-year-old Felicia Evans, was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery and prohibited weapons possession. She was subsequently booked into jail, with her bond set at $250,000.
