Philadelphia Mass Shooting Suspect Set to Stand Trial for Deadly Rampage in Kingsessing

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – The suspect accused of carrying out a shooting spree in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood, which resulted in multiple fatalities, is set to face trial after a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Kimbrady Carriker, held on all charges, was previously deemed unfit to stand trial and was required to undergo inpatient mental health treatment for 60 days as ordered by a court-appointed psychiatrist.

The 40-year-old individual is facing allegations of shooting eight people, resulting in the tragic deaths of five individuals in July of 2023.

One of the victims, Joseph Wamah, was the first to lose his life on July 2, followed by four more fatalities the next day, including DaJuan Brown (15), Lashyd Merritt (21), Dymire Stanton (29), and Ralph Morales (59).

Additionally, a 13-year-old and a 2-year-old suffered gunshot wounds, while two others, including a 2-year-old, sustained injuries from shattered glass during the attacks.

Carriker’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 9, as the legal proceedings against him continue to unfold.
