Paulding County Murder Investigation: 30-Year-Old Man Found Dead in Home

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. – Deputies are investigating the death of a 30-year-old man in the Douglasville area as a murder. The victim, Charvis Baulding, was found shot and killed in his home, leading investigators to rule his death a homicide.

Baulding’s sister, Chastity Baulding, mentioned that there was a break-in before her brother was gunned down. A neighbor discovered his body after noticing his dogs roaming around the neighborhood.

Paulding County investigators revealed that they have ruled his death a homicide based on preliminary findings from the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office during the autopsy, and other forensic aspects of the investigation. The official autopsy report is pending.

According to Chastity, there was a bullet hole in the garage door and a boarded-up window at the scene of the crime, indicating that her brother was trying to escape through a side door before he was shot.

Baulding’s mother, Willene Cummings, described her son as someone who would “give you the shirt off his back,” and expressed her confidence in justice being served. Both Chastity and Baulding’s mother pleaded with the public to come forward with any information they might have about the incident.

Investigators have urged those with tips to submit them anonymously through the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line or via the Paulding Sheriff mobile app.

The case is still under investigation and authorities are seeking the public’s cooperation in order to bring justice to the victim and his family.
