Los Angeles, California – After years of investigation, authorities have apprehended a suspect in the brutal murder of renowned hairstylist Fabio Sementilli. The man, Christopher Austin, was recently arrested and extradited from Washington state in connection with the stabbing that took place seven years ago at a Woodland Hills mansion.
Prosecutors allege that Austin, along with Monica Sementilli and her lover Robert Louis Baker, conspired to kill Fabio Sementilli in order to claim his $1.6 million life insurance policy. While Baker admitted to carrying out the murder, Austin’s involvement had remained unknown until his recent arrest.
Fabio Sementilli, who was a father of three and an executive at Wella, was found stabbed to death in his home in January 2017. The investigation revealed a complex web of deceit, with Baker and Monica Sementilli at the center of the murder plot.
Monica Sementilli, who has maintained her innocence throughout the investigation, is currently awaiting trial. Her lawyer has vehemently denied her involvement in the murder scheme, stating that Baker will testify on her behalf.
The arrest of Austin could potentially change the course of the trial, as prosecutors claim that both Baker and Austin played a role in the heinous crime. Authorities allege that Baker stabbed Fabio Sementilli multiple times, while Austin allegedly delivered a fatal blow to the victim’s neck.
Detectives were led to Baker after discovering blood in Sementilli’s abandoned Porsche, linking him to the crime scene. It was also revealed that Monica Sementilli had allegedly orchestrated the murder, ensuring Baker had access to the house and a clear path to carry out the killing.
Despite the delays in the trial proceedings, prosecutors remain confident in the evidence against Monica Sementilli. The case continues to unfold as more details emerge surrounding the tragic murder of Fabio Sementilli.
