Murder suspect Anthony Snook charged with killing of two teenage boys in Bristol

Bristol, England – A 44-year-old man has been charged with the murder of two teenage boys in the city of Bristol. Anthony Snook appeared in Bristol Magistrates’ Court to face charges of murdering best friends Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16. The brutal stabbing incident that resulted in the deaths of the two boys occurred on Ilminster Road in the Knowle West area of Bristol. The tragic event has led to an outpouring of grief from the local community, as well as from the families and friends of the victims.

The boys were taken to separate hospitals, Southmead Hospital and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, by ambulance, after the attack. Despite the efforts of locals and police who rushed to their aid, both boys succumbed to their injuries in the early hours of the following morning.

During the court hearing, the defendant, dressed in a grey tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name, address, and date of birth. District Judge Lynne Matthews informed Snook that the court had no power to consider a bail application and that the case would be sent to Bristol Crown Court. Snook, a resident of Dowling Road, Hartcliffe, Bristol, was officially charged with two counts of murder and is set to appear in Bristol Crown Court at a later date.

Moreover, Avon and Somerset Police have arrested several other individuals in connection with the investigation. Additionally, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place, but has since been released with no further action regarding the murder, while still being under investigation for the weapon offense.

He also reminded the public about the impact of social media speculation and the sharing of footage on the families of the victims.
