The incident, which has been dubbed the Bengaluru Park Murder, took place at Sarakki Park in JP Nagar on Thursday, April 18. The gruesome event unfolded as a man stabbed a woman to death, with the victim’s mother witnessing the tragic act. In a desperate attempt to intervene, the mother then fatally struck the man with a stone. Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the shocking incident, including interviewing eyewitnesses for more information.
The victims have been identified as 44-year-old Suresh and Anusha. Reports indicate that Suresh, who worked for an event management company, had a heated altercation with Anusha, a caretaker, leading to the violent confrontation. Anusha had reportedly distanced herself from Suresh, prompting his deadly response. Sadly, Anusha succumbed to her injuries, which included wounds to her chest and neck. She was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.
According to police statements, Anusha had informed her mother that she was meeting someone before heading to the park. Concerned for her daughter’s safety, the mother trailed Anusha and witnessed the brutal attack. In a moment of desperation, the mother acted swiftly to protect her daughter by fatally injuring Suresh. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities piecing together the sequence of events leading up to the tragic outcome.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Lokesh Bharamappa Jagalasar revealed that the murders occurred around 4:45 pm at Sarakki Park in Jayanagar. Two separate cases have been filed in connection with the incident, and law enforcement is diligently working to unravel the details surrounding the shocking double murder. The mother of the deceased is currently being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
