Murder: Minnesota Man Pretends to be UPS Worker, Kills Three in Robbery Gone Wrong

COON RAPIDS, MINNESOTA – A man from Minnesota is facing charges for the murder of three individuals after allegedly using a UPS uniform to gain entry into their home in an attempted robbery that turned violent, according to prosecutors.

Alonzo Mingo, 37, has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder committed without premeditation but with intent. The complaint filed in Anoka County accuses Mingo of using a firearm during the robbery, which could potentially lead to a longer sentence if he is found guilty.

Security camera footage from the victims’ residence in Coon Rapids reportedly supports the prosecution’s claim that Mingo, dressed as a UPS delivery worker, entered the home with two other individuals and demanded money at gunpoint. The victims, including a woman, her son, and her husband, were fatally shot, while two young children survived and may have witnessed the violence.

Law enforcement responded to the home after a 911 call with sounds of a disturbance in the background. Deputies found three individuals deceased inside the residence. Mingo and the other suspects were later apprehended, and a UPS uniform and box found in Mingo’s vehicle were linked to him through fingerprints.

The motive for the killings has not been disclosed, but a potential connection to drug-related activities has been mentioned in an affidavit filed in support of a search warrant tied to the investigation. The affidavit alleges that the husband of one of the victims had been involved in the sale of illegal substances.

Mingo is currently in custody without bail, and it is unclear if he has obtained legal representation. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities are seeking assistance from the public for any relevant information that could aid in the case.
