Mother Murdered: Man Charged in Valley Station Death Case

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A man has been taken into custody and charged with murder in connection to the tragic death of a mother in Valley Station last month.

Louisville Metro Police Department apprehended 29-year-old Richard Goodman on Wednesday, accusing him of murder and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon. The incident stems from the shooting death of 21-year-old Kylee Miller on February 18 in the 6300 block of Renee Way.

Authorities responded to an initial call for a wellness check at the address, only to discover Miller’s lifeless body with multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival. Their subsequent investigation revealed that Goodman had been in the company of Miller leading up to her murder, with a witness sighting him carrying a handgun while with her on that fateful day.

Moreover, police were able to track Goodman’s proximity to Miller using cellphone data at the time of her death. It was also noted that Miller’s car was found burnt in a separate part of Louisville, with Goodman allegedly linked to that area simultaneously.

Details emerged from an arrest slip indicating that Goodman had communicated with an inmate about incriminating specifics related to the murder, aligning with evidence collected at the crime scene. He is set for arraignment on Thursday at 9 a.m. for these charges.

This unfortunate event has left the community mourning the loss of a young mother and seeking justice for the senseless crime committed. As the legal process unfolds, the hope remains that closure and accountability will be achieved for the family and loved ones of Kylee Miller.
