Middletown Man Found Guilty of Aggravated Murder in Shooting Death of Asiah Slone

Hamilton, Ohio – After a five-day trial in Butler County Common Pleas Court, a Middletown man has been found guilty of aggravated murder in the shooting death of Asiah Slone. Brandon Davis, 45, was convicted of all counts, including having weapons under disability, kidnapping, and other charges related to Slone’s death in a Yankee Road house last summer.

During the trial, the jury deliberated for about four hours before reaching their verdict. Davis, who took the stand in his own defense, denied any involvement in the incident where Slone was shot twice in the head while she was sleeping on the floor of the house on June 7, 2024.

Butler County Prosecutor Michael Gmoser commended the jury for their decision, acknowledging that the witnesses in the case faced challenges due to drug issues. Gmoser emphasized that Slone, despite her lifestyle, did not deserve to be fatally shot while sleeping. Slone, aged 35, was reported missing, and her remains were discovered in a trash can on July 1, leading to the charges against Davis and a co-defendant, Perry Hart.

Gmoser painted a picture of Slone’s life, highlighting her struggles with drug addiction and the risky environment in which she lived. Davis, who frequented the area where Slone lived, was accused of being involved in her murder. Prosecutors presented evidence suggesting Davis’ ties to the crime scene and his alleged actions on the day of the murder.

The prosecution alleged that Davis arrived at the house where Slone was found, brandishing a distinctive pistol and fatally shooting her. Despite initial signs of life, Davis reportedly instructed Hart to silence Slone, resulting in a second fatal shot. Slone’s disappearance, followed by the discovery of her decomposed body, led to a lengthy investigation that eventually led to Davis’ trial.

While Davis maintained his innocence throughout the trial, the evidence presented by the prosecution, including testimony from witnesses, pointed to his involvement in the crime. With Davis now facing a sentencing hearing, the community awaits justice for Asiah Slone and closure for her loved ones.
