Renton, Washington – A tragic accident involving four vehicles at the intersection of 140th Avenue and Southeast 192nd Street in the Fairwood area of Renton resulted in the loss of four lives. The incident, described as a “serious vehicle accident” by Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority Division Chief Pat Pawlak, claimed the lives of a 38-year-old woman, along with three children aged 13, 12, and 12.

The woman, identified as Andrea Hudson, was driving her van with her two children and three other children to a homeschool activity when their vehicle was struck by another driver allegedly speeding at 90 mph. Andrea’s two children were critically injured and are currently fighting for their lives at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

According to a GoFundMe page set up by Andrea’s brother-in-law, Ben Hudson, Andrea Hudson was remembered as an exceptional mother, devoted wife, and beloved friend. She dedicated her life to her family, homeschooling her children and enjoying outdoor adventures with them. The children who lost their lives in the accident were not related to Andrea but were the children of her close friends.

The causing driver, an 18-year-old man, was among the injured and is currently receiving treatment at Harborview Medical Center under guard, with pending criminal charges. Speed was suspected to be a factor in the accident, as investigators work to piece together the events leading up to the tragic collision.

In a plea for witnesses to come forward, KCSO Sgt. Eric White urged anyone with information on the accident to contact the King County Sheriff’s Office. The community has been left shocked and saddened by the devastating loss of lives in the Fairwood area of Renton.
