BEAVERCREEK, OH – An Ohio Walmart became the scene of a horrifying attack when an unidentified gunman wounded four individuals before ending his own life. The multinational retail giant has assured its full support in the ongoing investigation.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:30 PM on Monday in the suburban community of Beavercreek, part of the larger Dayton metropolitan area, home to around 50,000 residents.
Local police Captain Scott Molnar informed the press that the victims’ conditions remain unknown, but all have been rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The police have yet to release further information about the gunman, including his identity and potential motives for the attack. However, they confirmed that the shooter died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Earlier, the police had reassured the public via social media that the store had been secured and there was no longer an active threat.
In an official statement, Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, expressed its profound sorrow over the tragic event. The company stated, “We’re heartbroken by what’s happened at our Beavercreek, Ohio store. This remains a developing situation, and we’re working closely with investigators on the scene.”
This incident comes just a day after another shooting outside a Walmart store in south Anchorage, Alaska, which resulted in two deaths. The suspect in that case remains at large. The store was evacuated and closed for the day, with police officers helping customers to their vehicles safely.
