Gunman, 77, Opens Fire at Idaho Sheriff’s Office in Fiery Standoff, Leaving Three Injured

Wallace, Idaho — A 77-year-old man opened fire on Friday afternoon outside the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office, injuring three individuals before being killed in a confrontation with law enforcement. Authorities reported that John Drake initiated the violent episode shortly after 2:30 p.m., shooting at a pickup truck parked on the street and hitting two women in the legs, as well as injuring a sheriff’s deputy with flying glass.
