CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Authorities are investigating a tragic shooting at Barku Plastics, where two employees were found dead following reports of gunfire early Monday morning. Police received calls about the incident just after 10 a.m. at the company’s facility.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of Tobias Gleinig, the vice president of Barku Plastics, and Ivan Aldergot, a fellow employee. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, prompting a swift and thorough investigation.
Police believe the shooter fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later located at a residence in nearby Bradley County. This development led law enforcement to initiate a SWAT operation, surrounding the property where they suspected the shooter might be barricaded.
Cleveland Police Captain Evie West emphasized the department’s commitment to public safety during the standoff. “We are taking every precaution to ensure that the community remains secure,” she stated. “Our operation will continue until the suspect is apprehended.”
In collaboration with multiple agencies, including the Bradley and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Offices, officers worked diligently to resolve the situation in a controlled manner. “We are coordinating our efforts from Samples Baptist Church, focusing on making contact with the individual inside the residence,” Captain West added.
