Guilty Plea in 2022 Edgewood Murder Case: Man Admits to Killing Woman on Majesty Lane

EDGEWOOD, Md. — A man from Edgewood, Md. has pleaded guilty to the 2022 murder of a woman in the same area, according to the Harford County Circuit Court. Jamar Deverick Wise, 43, admitted to first-degree murder on Friday for the killing of Kisha Blackwell, 46, outside her home on Majesty Lane. Blackwell was shot and killed on December 20, 2022, and died a day later.

The incident began with a verbal argument that led to gunshots being fired. Despite the quick response of deputies upon receiving the 911 call from Blackwell’s 15-year-old daughter, the shooter managed to flee the scene. The deadly incident was also recorded by a neighbor using a cellphone.

Wise, who was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 22, was found to still be in possession of the murder weapon when apprehended. As part of his plea deal, Wise faces a potential sentence ranging from life in prison with 80 years suspended to life without the possibility of parole. His sentencing is scheduled for May 10.
