Gluten-Free Doughnuts from Holi Mochi Now Available at Port Moody’s Sweet Talk Every Weekend

PORT MOODY, CANADA – Artisanal doughnut lovers with gluten allergies in Port Moody are in for a treat as Sweet Talk, a new gourmet doughnut destination in the city, collaborates with Holy Mochi Donuts to offer gluten-free options every weekend.

The collaboration came about when the Sweet Talk team noticed a demand for gluten-free confections at their storefront location that opened in January. In response, Holy Mochi, a local bakery known for its gluten-free recipe without compromising on taste and texture, stepped in to fill the void.

Kathy Nguyen and Maria Adato, the founders of Holy Mochi, are former digital marketers who started the bakery in 2022. They bake in small batches out of a commissary kitchen in Port Coquitlam before moving to the same facility in Port Moody where Sweet Talk prepares its treats. Their doughnuts are renowned for their distinct, yet not overly sweet flavors, such as coco panda, blood orange, jasmine rose milk tea, and chocolate caramel popcorn, adorned with decorative icings and extra touches like salted caramel, dried orange, and coconut.

In addition to their regular offerings, Holy Mochi is creating special Valentine’s bouquets with flavors like ube, yuzu strawberry, red velvet, and chocolate, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting A Loving Spoonful, an organization that provides freshly-made meals to people living with HIV.

Moreover, Holy Mochi is celebrating Lunar New Year by introducing special donuts with unique flavors like durian, red bean, black sesame, and mandarin. Sweet Talk, operated by restaurateurs Scott McTavish and Juan Perello, opened its doors after months of product development and pop-up sales that often sold out in minutes.

With Sweet Talk’s dedication to offering gourmet doughnuts and Holy Mochi’s commitment to creating unique and delicious gluten-free options, the collaboration aims to cater to all doughnut lovers, regardless of dietary restrictions, in Port Moody on weekends.
