Glendale Residents Found Dead in Murder-Suicide in Riverside County

Glendale, California – Two Glendale residents tragically lost their lives in a suspected murder-suicide in an unincorporated area of Riverside County, authorities reported on Sunday. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by the Glendale Police Department around 9:30 a.m. Sunday, after receiving information that two individuals were at risk of committing suicide in the vicinity of Cajalco Road and La Sierra Avenue, near Lake Mathews, which is located in a rural area south of Riverside.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of Matthew Haze, 54, and Naomi Haneji-Haze, 53, both from Glendale, inside a vehicle in the area. The Sheriff’s Department issued a news release stating that the incident was being treated as a murder-suicide. Following the discovery of the bodies on Sunday morning, the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station announced on social media that Cajalco Road between La Sierra Avenue and Lake Mathews would be closed for several hours due to an ongoing investigation.

Law enforcement later reopened Cajalco Road to the public. At this time, no further details regarding the incident have been disclosed to the public.
