Florida Man Accused of Murdering Wife, Son Accused of Cover-Up

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Brevard County, Florida, have made a shocking discovery in the case of Amber Estep, a woman who went missing in January. Investigators have uncovered gruesome details pointing towards the involvement of her husband, Brian Estep, and their son, Lane Estep, in her disappearance and death.

According to court documents, Brian Estep claimed that he last saw his wife after an argument in their vehicle on January 16. He alleged that the argument erupted when Amber revealed that she had been involved in multiple affairs. Brian also mentioned that Amber slapped him before demanding to be let out of the truck on the side of the highway. Subsequently, he did not try to contact her, assuming she was safe at her mother’s home.

Shortly after the investigation began, authorities found Brian’s pickup truck engulfed in flames in a wooded area. Lane Estep, their 18-year-old son, was discovered at the scene and claimed that the fire was due to a recall issue. However, further investigation revealed that the truck had been deliberately set on fire with an accelerant.

Tragically, Amber’s body was found the next day with multiple gunshot wounds to her neck and face, along with other injuries. Investigators used her cellphone data to trace her last known location, leading them to discover human blood and firearm projectiles in a nearby wooded area.

Subsequently, Brian and Lane relocated to West Virginia, but authorities continued their investigation. Eventually, they were able to place Brian’s truck close to where Amber’s body was found. Brian was eventually arrested on charges of first-degree premeditated murder and tampering with evidence, while Lane was also arrested for allegedly helping to destroy evidence by setting the truck on fire.

Lane now faces charges of arson in the first degree, being an accessory after the fact, and tampering with evidence. The case continues to unfold as authorities work to bring justice for Amber Estep and her tragic death.
