Police said the attack on a Lamborghini appeared targeted as detectives searched for the shooter.
MIRAMAR, Fla. — A burst of early morning gunfire left a Miramar neighborhood shaken Sunday after a Lamborghini carrying three people was shot up and crashed near Sunshine Boulevard, killing influencer Brianna Johnson.
The shooting drew a large police response to the 2700 block of Sunshine Boulevard during the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Johnson, 21, was known online as DreamDoll Brii and ItGirlBri. Two men in the vehicle were wounded and taken to a hospital.
Police said the Lamborghini Urus was traveling west when a white sedan came alongside it near an intersection. Someone in the sedan fired into the Lamborghini, striking all three occupants. The SUV then rolled through the area and crashed near a house, leaving neighbors to wake up to sirens, investigators and evidence markers.
Some residents said the first sounds were confusing because fireworks had been common through the weekend. That changed when they stepped outside and saw police and the damaged vehicle. “It’s a little nerve-racking for no reason really,” neighbor Carlos Regueiro said.
Miramar Police Chief Delrish Moss said investigators did not believe the attack showed a broader danger to the neighborhood. Still, he said the gunfire was disturbing and that the vehicle appeared to have been targeted for a reason that had not been confirmed.
Johnson’s death also spread quickly online, where thousands of followers left condolences on her social media pages. Her public accounts had drawn a large audience for lifestyle and entertainment posts. Police have not released the names of the two wounded men.
Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage and working to identify the white sedan and anyone inside it. No charges had been announced, and the motive remained unknown. Police also had not said whether the victims were followed into the neighborhood or encountered the shooter nearby.
The investigation continued Monday, with the white sedan and the shooting timeline remaining central to the case.
