Security footage capturing explosive incidents has heightened fears amid a dry brush landscape that could easily catch fire.
Since 2020, locals have reported a group of teenagers frequently launching fireworks from a dry basin at Plum Canyon Park, located just yards from homes. According to residents, the situation escalated when the park first opened. While the laughter of children riding bikes and scooters was once a welcome sound, their nighttime activities soon turned into dangerous firework displays.
Lily, a nearby homeowner who relocated from Burbank in search of a more peaceful environment, described the shift in atmosphere. “It started with kids having fun,” she noted, but it didn’t take long for the night to turn dangerous, with the explosive sounds echoing like bombs between the hours of 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.
