Firefighter Released from Burn Center After Sterling House Explosion

STERLING, Va. – After a devastating house explosion in Sterling, a firefighter has been discharged from the burn center and is now back home. Lt. Chris Kerkstra of the Loudoun Career Fire Fighters Association – IAFF Local 3756, was trapped in the basement during the explosion and had to undergo a tunneling operation to be freed. Thankfully, he was able to walk out on his own once a path was cleared for him to exit.
