Firefighter Honored at Celebration of Life After Line of Duty Death

Leesburg, Virginia – A solemn celebration of life is set to take place on Monday to honor Trevor Brown, a dedicated Loudoun County firefighter who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Brown, a 45-year-old Sterling volunteer firefighter, was a beloved member of the community who selflessly served his fellow citizens.

Loudoun County Fire Chief Keith Johnson fondly remembered Brown as a devoted father of three children who brought that same level of care and dedication to his role in the fire service. This commitment to service will be honored by thousands expected to attend Brown’s funeral at the Cornerstone Chapel at 11 a.m.

Governor Glenn Youngkin is scheduled to speak at the service, expressing the state’s respect and gratitude for Brown’s sacrifice. To show solidarity and respect for Brown, United States and Virginia flags will be lowered at all state buildings from sunrise to sunset on the day of the service.

Following the tragic explosion that claimed Brown’s life, eleven first responders and two civilians were injured and hospitalized. The explosion, which destroyed a home, was linked to a leaking 500-gallon underground propane tank. Investigations continue into the exact cause of the fire, with officials working to ensure the safety of the community.

As the community gathers to pay their respects and honor Brown’s legacy, first responders advise of potential traffic delays in the vicinity of the chapel and Leesburg Airport until early afternoon. Brown’s affiliation with Loudoun County Fire and Rescue since 2016 highlights his unwavering commitment to serving and protecting the community.

This celebration of life serves as a reminder of the selfless dedication exhibited by firefighters like Trevor Brown, who put their lives on the line every day to ensure the safety and well-being of others. The outpouring of support and attendance at the service underscores the deep gratitude and respect felt by the community for those who serve as first responders.
