Ramon Nunez, 21 years old, was taken into custody on Sunday in relation to the two fatal overdoses. The situation unfolded when Santa Rosa officials received a distress call early Saturday morning reporting a potential fentanyl overdose involving two teenage girls. Fortunately, they were transported to a medical facility and survived. Later that day, emergency responders were summoned to a residence where they discovered two unresponsive teens, a 16-year-old girl from Santa Rosa High and an 18-year-old boy from Montgomery High, both of whom tragically lost their lives.
Police are actively investigating the circumstances to determine if these incidents are connected. It has been indicated that the victims purchased what they believed to be cocaine but was likely fentanyl. Nunez was apprehended on homicide charges, suspected of providing narcotics to a minor and providing narcotics to a minor with a significant age difference.
