Fort Worth, Texas – A murder charge has been brought against a man in Fort Worth following the death of a 21-year-old from a fentanyl overdose in November 2023, as confirmed by authorities and county documentation. The deceased, identified as Matthew Teran, succumbed to fentanyl toxicity in his residence on Nov. 6, 2023, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Ramiro Limon, also 21, has been arrested and charged with murder related to the fatal overdose.
The filing of these charges became viable due to a Texas state law enacted just two months before Teran’s tragic passing. Teran, a graduate of Castleberry High School, was recognized for his remarkable athletics and academic achievements, which earned him a scholarship to Waldorf University in Iowa, as indicated in an obituary penned by his family. Described as an exceptional athlete and scholar who received numerous academic accolades and sports honors, Teran was known for his devotion to Christianity, his passion for theology, and his active involvement in Bible studies.
Additionally, Teran’s family highlighted his love for music, penchant for making new acquaintances, and particular fondness for his mother’s confectionery delights. Subsequently, Limon was apprehended on February 29 and is presently detained at the Tarrant County Jail on a $100,000 bond, according to law enforcement and correctional records.
