Fatal Shooting Suspects Face Rankin County Judge amid Extra Security after Reservoir Incident

Brandon, Mississippi – Two suspects in a fatal shooting near the reservoir appeared in Rankin County Justice Court on Thursday under heightened security measures. Ryan Duette, 20, facing a charge of second-degree murder, was assigned a bond of $500,000. Accompanying him was Lainey Bella Ingle, 20, who is charged with being an accessory after the fact of murder. The charges were filed following the tragic shooting on Tuesday that claimed the life of 20-year-old Bryson Horne Wash.

The investigation into the incident commenced around 9:50 a.m. on Tuesday, when a mother dialed 911 reporting her son was found unconscious with a gunshot wound at a residence on North Grove Circle. Sadly, Wash succumbed to his injuries. Witnesses at the scene mentioned spotting a small white passenger car hastily leaving the area. Duette voluntarily surrendered at the sheriff’s office around noon, alongside Ingle.

Firearms were uncovered from the vehicle in possession of Duette and Ingle, as confirmed by Sheriff Bryan Bailey. It was further revealed that Wash was the sibling of Cameron Horne-Crook, a Northwest Rankin student who tragically lost his life the previous month. The motive behind the shooting remains undisclosed, with authorities yet to establish a connection between Wash’s demise and his brother’s killing.

The court setting on Thursday provided a glimpse into the legal process for the suspects involved, shedding light on the severity of the charges laid against them. With the support of the community and law enforcement, the investigation into the events surrounding the shooting continues to unfold. As the case progresses, more details may come to light, potentially offering closure and justice for all those affected by the tragic loss of life.
