Family of Slain Atlanta Man Holds Vigil for Victim and Stolen Dog

Atlanta, Georgia – The family of Sam Harris Jr. held a vigil in his honor at Charles L. Harper Memorial Park in Southwest Atlanta on Saturday. Harris was shot and killed while walking his dog Tequila on Mitchell Street in southwest Atlanta. The family gathered from Detroit, Cincinnati, and all over the Atlanta Metro to honor Harris with a candlelight vigil.

During the vigil, Harris’ sister, Liz Robinson, expressed the community’s love for her brother. Family members shared memories of Harris, describing him as deeply loved and irreplaceable. Atlanta police believe Harris was targeted, and that his killers also stole Tequila.

Harris’ relatives are desperate for answers about who took the life of their loved one and stole his dog. They are offering a $5,000 reward in addition to the $2,000 reward from CrimeStoppers for anyone who can help bring the perpetrators to justice and bring Tequila home.

The family has also launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise more funds for the reward. The goal is to reach $10,000 to incentivize someone to come forward with information that leads to the capture of Harris’ killers and the return of Tequila.
