Families Plead for Help in D.C. Double Murder Investigation

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The search intensifies for a suspect implicated in the murders of a congressional intern and a teenage girl, as families appeal for public assistance.

Nearly four months ago, Eric Joachum, 22, was tragically shot. His mother, Tamara, recalls his joyful last birthday and clings to memories of her son, imagining his reassuring voice.

In a recent development, authorities revealed that Antonio Lucas is suspected in Joachum’s death and the murder of 17-year-old Zoe Kelly Hickman, who was killed on July 4. Lucas remains at large, prompting a community-wide search.

Zoe’s family, including her mother and uncle, remember her as a vibrant soul with aspirations of becoming a firefighter. Her uncle voiced concerns over the possibility of more victims if Lucas is not apprehended.

Both families, united by grief, are determined to find justice. They have reached out to each other, offering mutual support and condolences despite never having met. A $75,000 reward is available for information leading to Lucas’s arrest.

The families urge the community to keep Eric and Zoe in their thoughts and to assist in bringing Lucas to justice, preventing further tragedies.
