Facebook Live Murder: Shiv Sena UBT Leader Abhishek Ghosalkar Killed in Mumbai

MUMBAI, India: In a shocking turn of events, Mauris Noronha fatally shot Abhishek Ghosalkar, a prominent leader of Shiv Sena UBT, during a Facebook live stream. The two had been in conflict for a while and were reportedly attempting to reconcile during the video.

Noronha, popularly known as Mauris ‘Bhai’, had gained a positive reputation for his charity work during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, his plans to run for the upcoming corporator elections in Mumbai were disrupted when Ghosalkar, the son of a prominent Shiv Sena UBT leader, opposed his candidacy.

The situation escalated further when Noronha was accused of rape and subsequently arrested. Believing Ghosalkar to be behind his legal troubles, Noronha allegedly devised a plan to confront and shoot Ghosalkar before taking his own life.

A viral video of the incident, which occurred in Noronha’s office in IC Colony in Borivali, captured the gruesome shooting. Following the tragedy, two FIRs have been filed – one for murder and another for suicide. The Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch has taken over the investigation.

The arrest of Mehul Parikh, who was reportedly present at the scene during the shootings, adds a layer of complexity to the case. The police are looking into whether Parikh played any role or had prior knowledge of the shooting.

This tragedy adds to a recent string of violent incidents involving political figures in Mumbai. Aaditya Thackeray, former state minister and son of Uddhav Thackeray, voiced concern over the impact of such events on the reputation and safety of Maharashtra.

The circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths of both Ghosalkar and Noronha continue to raise questions and cast a shadow over the political landscape in Mumbai. As the investigation unfolds, more details are expected to emerge, shedding light on the sequence of events that led to this disturbing turn of events.
