Explosions and Fire Near Sacramento Sikh Temple Ruled Out as Arson: Cause Still Unknown

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Authorities in Sacramento County are investigating a series of explosions and a fire that occurred near a Sikh temple. The incident, which was ruled out as arson, took place late January and involved propane tanks catching fire, leading to multiple explosions. Flames then spread to a building and nearby vehicles in front of the Gurdwara Sacramento Sikh Society, located along Bradshaw Road, south of Gerber Road.

The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District stated that the fire originated from the propane tanks, but the cause of the fire remains unknown. Video footage released by the fire department showed flames bursting from the building, followed by smoke seeping out of the roof and an explosion that blew a propane tank out of the building.

Upon arriving at the scene, fire crews reported hearing loud explosions, with several propane tanks blowing up and creating a blast radius of at least 50 feet high. While the fire caused significant damage to the building in question, the temple itself remained unharmed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as confirmed by both the sheriff’s office and fire department.

The investigation into the cause of the fire and explosions remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to search for clues and information. The incident has raised concerns within the local community, prompting discussions about safety measures and the potential risks associated with propane tanks. As the investigation progresses, the Sikh temple and the affected building are receiving support and assistance from the community as they work to recover from the damage caused by the fire and explosions.
