Explosion Shakes Basaveshwara Nagar Building, Injures Four Residents

Bengaluru, India – Residents of West of Chord Road in Basaveshwara Nagar were left stunned by an explosion that rocked a car garage in a three-story residential building on Saturday evening. The fire, which is believed to have originated from a gas welding machine, quickly spread to the vehicles, resulting in an explosion, according to officials from the Fire and Emergency Services.

Four individuals, including the owner of the garage known as George and his assistant Shivu, suffered injuries as a result of the incident. The impact of the explosion was so intense that it caused the windows and doors of the building to shake, causing panic among the residents in the area. Witnesses described a scene of chaos as passersby scrambled to safety in the wake of the explosion.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, two fire tenders promptly arrived at the scene and were able to extinguish the fire before transporting the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. S. Girish, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the west division, accompanied by officials from the BBMP, conducted an on-site investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.

Initial findings suggest that a gas leak from the welding machine may have sparked the fire. However, further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the mishap. Authorities are also looking into whether there were any violations on the part of the garage owner that may have contributed to the incident. Additional updates on the investigation are expected as more details emerge.
