BIG SKY, Mont. – A person sustained serious injuries following an explosion in the Cascade Ridge Subdivision in Big Sky on Friday afternoon. The incident prompted a significant emergency response from the Big Sky Fire Department.
The explosion resulted in a total loss of the main structure, with minimal damage reported to adjacent buildings. First responders witnessed a large black smoke column and flames reaching up to 15 feet above the roofline of the structure.

The occupant of the residence affected by the explosion was transported to a Regional Burn Center to receive treatment for life-threatening injuries. The Big Sky Fire Department is actively investigating the incident and has provided updates on the situation.
