Explosion in Copperas Cove Leads to Arrest in Fatal Arson Case

COPPERAS COVE, Texas – In a tragic incident on May 24, Landon Michael Lower lost his life in an explosion at a home in Copperas Cove. The authorities have taken Devon Bellows into custody and charged her with arson causing bodily injury or death in connection to Lower’s untimely demise.

According to officials, text messages indicate that Bellows persuaded Lower to set fire to the house in order to collect insurance money. Lower’s friend, Cristopher Minjarez, expressed his sorrow and hope for accountability in this heartbreaking situation. Minjarez, who had known Lower for a long time through their church and high school, described him as a caring individual who deeply cherished his son.

The aftermath of the explosion left debris scattered across the property, serving as a haunting reminder of the tragic events that took place. Minjarez seeks justice for his friend Lower and holds Bellows accountable for her actions, stating that she has angered many by manipulating Lower during a vulnerable time.

Minjarez believes that Lower’s willingness to participate in such a crime stemmed from his desire to support his son during challenging times. He fondly remembers Lower as a true friend but condemns Bellows for the havoc she has wreaked on both her own family and others. Bellows is currently detained on a $210,000 bond as the legal proceedings continue. The community mourns the loss of Lower and grapples with the repercussions of this senseless tragedy.
