Explosion in Al-Sanamayn Kills 7 Children – Security Chaos Continues in Daraa

Al-Sanamayn, a city in the southern part of Daraa, was shaken by a tragic incident today when an explosive device, planted by unknown individuals, killed seven children and injured two others, including a woman. The heartbreaking event took place in the Al-Mijbal neighborhood, where the children were playing when the device detonated. The victims included four siblings, highlighting the devastating impact on families in the community.

The deceased children were identified as Munir Muhammad Al-Labad, Muhammad Firas Al-Labad, Wassim Imad Al-Labbad, a child whose name remains unknown, Remas Ayman Al-Labbad, Imad Ayman Al-Labbad, Abeer Ayman Al-Labbad, and Hala Ayman Al-Labbad. This tragedy comes just one day after another explosive device went off in a garbage container in the western neighborhood of Al-Sanamayn, fortunately without causing any injuries.

Since the beginning of April, the city of Daraa has experienced a surge in violence, with 24 people losing their lives in less than a week, including nine children. The region has been grappling with security challenges following armed conflicts and settlements in 2018, leading to ongoing unrest and frequent incidents of violence.
