BIG SKY, Montana – A propane explosion rocked a residential area in Big Sky, Montana, on a Friday, resulting in a homeowner sustaining severe burn injuries. Neighbors recounted witnessing the harrowing moment when windows and doors of the home shattered due to the explosion, with flames reaching alarming heights above the roofline. The immense smoke column and visible flames prompted the intervention of the Big Sky Fire Department, alongside neighboring fire departments and law enforcement agencies.

The collaborative efforts of the Big Sky Fire Department, Yellowstone Mountain Rural Club Fire Department, Bozeman Fire Department, Gallatin Gateway Fire Department, Hyalite Fire Department, and Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office were instrumental in containing the fire and preventing it from spreading to nearby structures.
