Explosion Claims 3 Lives in North Sioux City Tragedy

North Sioux City, South Dakota – A tragic incident unfolded on Saturday in North Sioux City as three residents lost their lives in a fire triggered by a propane explosion, according to a South Dakota Fire Marshal Investigator.

The blaze erupted just after 7 a.m. at a residence on 7 Bancroft Court, prompting the rapid response of multiple emergency services, including the North Sioux City Fire Department, North Sioux City Paramedics, North Sioux City Police Department, Sergeant Bluff Fire, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Union County Emergency Management.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found the residence fully engulfed in flames, leading to a devastating discovery. By approximately 9:00 a.m., three individuals were found deceased inside the home. Authorities have chosen to withhold the names of the deceased pending notification of their families.

To unravel the cause of the fire, a South Dakota Fire Marshal Investigator arrived on the scene at 12:16 p.m. After assessing the situation, the investigator determined that the tragic blaze was sparked by a propane explosion.
