Explosion at Cindy’s Diner Shuts Down State Route 12 in Trenton

TRENTON, N.Y. – State Route 12 has been reopened after an explosion occurred at Cindy’s Diner in Oneida County on Friday evening, according to emergency officials.

The incident took place just before 8:15 p.m., prompting a series of 9-1-1 calls reporting the explosion at the diner located at 9250 State Route 12 in the town of Trenton, between the villages of Remsen and Barneveld, NY.

Barneveld Fire Department was the primary unit on the scene, receiving mutual aid from Floyd, Holland Patent, Remsen, and Stittville, as well as assistance from the State Police, Sheriff’s Office, and STaR Ambulance.

Details are still emerging, and the cause of the explosion remains unknown at this time. While there have been no reports of injuries so far, authorities will continue to provide updates over the weekend.
