Explosion at Chemical Plant in Northwest China Kills Two, Injures Four

Yinchuan, China – Two individuals lost their lives and four others sustained injuries in a tragic explosion at a chemical plant in Ningxia, located in northwest China. The incident took place at the premises of Ningxia Baofeng Energy, a company listed on the Shanghai stock exchange that specializes in chemical production from coal.

Following the explosion, the injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment while authorities commenced an investigation into the cause of the accident. This marks the second safety incident at the plant in a short period, as a deflagration accident occurred on January 31, 2024, resulting in minor injuries to two inspectors in close proximity to the site. Fortunately, the earlier incident was swiftly contained within 14 minutes without any further complications.
