In Lake County, Florida, a woman named Cynthia Ann Ray has been arrested and charged with aggravated stalking and sending written threats to kill her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. This incident unfolded on Christmas Day, leading to her arrest by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The trouble began when deputies responded to a “criminal mischief” report at an address in Groveland on Monday night. At the scene, they spoke with the victim, who is Ray’s ex-boyfriend, and he recounted ongoing issues with Ray. He mentioned a previous incident in which Ray allegedly damaged the tires of his new girlfriend’s pickup truck by puncturing them. Shockingly, she returned to his house and punctured the same tires again shortly after they had been replaced.
During their investigation, the victim shared the threatening text messages he had received from Ray. He explained that he had not responded to these messages, but numerous messages were sent in a short time. Ray had been bombarding him with messages in large quantities since their breakup at the beginning of November, and she had also shown up at his house multiple times.
One specific message from Ray stood out in the affidavit. In this message, she expressed her desire to have sexual intercourse with him and his girlfriend, threatening to kill them if they refused. The victim responded by asking Ray not to contact him again, but she allegedly disregarded his request, stating that she didn’t care and would continue her behavior. The victim felt threatened by these messages and desperately wanted the harassment to cease so he could move on with his life.
Deputies eventually located Ray, who claimed she hadn’t left home since celebrating Christmas with her family. However, they observed that her car’s engine was still hot and discovered a knife inside the vehicle. Ray was informed of her Miranda Rights, but she stated that she did not understand them, leading to the termination of the interview.
Consequently, she was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail, where she is currently held on a $15,000 bond.
