Driver Indicted for Murder in Long Island Nail Salon Crash Resulting in NYPD Officer’s Death

Riverhead, New York – An alleged drunk driver involved in a fatal crash at a Long Island nail salon that resulted in the death of four individuals, including a young NYPD officer, is facing murder charges following an indictment, as reported on Monday.

Steven Schwally, 64, is scheduled to appear in court in Riverhead for arraignment on a grand jury indictment containing four counts of second-degree murder, sources disclosed to Newsday.

The incident took place on June 28 when Schwally reportedly crashed his Chevrolet Traverse into Hawaii Nail & Spa in Deer Park while under the influence, claiming the lives of four individuals, including an off-duty NYPD officer.
