HOUSTON, TX – Authorities are on the hunt for a driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that left two teenage girls critically injured in north Harris County. The accident occurred early Friday morning on Airline Drive in West Mount Houston, and surveillance footage captured the harrowing scene.
Detectives have made significant strides in the investigation. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced the discovery of a 2008 Audi believed to have been used in the crash that injured the girls, both 15 years old. Despite this progress, the driver remains unidentified, and investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The surveillance video, sourced from a nearby business, depicts the moment the vehicle struck the teens, who were riding their bicycle. David Almaguer, owner of DA Batteries, whose security cameras recorded the incident, expressed his shock upon learning what his cameras had captured. He had been unaware of the hit-and-run until he arrived at work and his brother informed him about the situation.
Both victims, residents of the local neighborhood, are currently hospitalized. One girl is in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition. Authorities have not released their names as the investigation continues.
