Doolandella Kidnapping: Queensland Police Arrest Four Men in Connection with Violent Assault

Queensland, Australia – Police in Queensland, Australia announced that a 43-year-old woman was kidnapped from her home in Doolandella on Friday. The woman was then taken to a property at Forest Lake, where she was assaulted and placed in a vehicle. According to Queensland Police Acting Inspector Michael Hogan, a firearm was discharged into the vehicle but fortunately, no one was shot. The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and has since been released from the hospital.

An alert from a member of the public led officers to an address in Stafford Heights, resulting in the arrest of four men, with two later being released. Two of the men, aged 18 and 20, have been charged with kidnapping, extortion, torture, armed robbery, dangerous conduct with a weapon, and other offenses. The investigation is still ongoing, and police are calling on two other men to come forward for questioning about their alleged involvement.

Acting Inspector Hogan emphasized that there is no current indication that the incident is gang-related, but it is something they will continue to explore as the investigation progresses. Crime scenes were established at three properties, and a car was taken away for forensic examination.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident or footage from the area to come forward and assist with the investigation. Acting Inspector Hogan also mentioned that the victim has been significantly shaken and traumatized by the events, highlighting the seriousness and impact of the crime. Despite the trauma experienced by the victim, authorities have assured the public that there is no threat to the wider community.
